Shandong Agricultural University (SDAU), established in 1906, is a comprehensive university in Shandong, China. Several academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering are graduates from SDAU.
SDAU was established in 1906 in Jinan and was called Shandong Higher Agricultural School (山東高等農業學堂). Later, the university changed its name to Shandong Agriculture College (山東農學院) in 1952. In 1958, SDAU was moved to Tai'an and in 1983 SDAU got its name.
山西農業大學
Shanxi Agricultural University (山西農業大學) is a university in Shanxi, China under the authority of the provincial government.
It is located in the county town of Taigu (太谷), a fairly rural area with a population of about 40,000 people. The school was founded in 1907 as the Ming Hsien school by a group of missionaries from Oberlin College, including the financier H.H. Kung, the future husband of Soong Ai-ling, the eldest of the three Song (Soong) sisters.
Primarily an agricultural university (one of the few remaining Chinese agricultural universities situated in a farming area), the school also has departments in the arts, physical education and English language study. The university maintains connections with Oberlin Shansi, a non profit organization operating out of Oberlin College, engaging in cross-cultural and education exchange programs. Each year, the university hosts young English teachers who have recently graduated from Oberlin College.
In addition to the Oberlin Shansi program, Shanxi Agricultural University also has established academic relations with universities and research institutions in Germany, Japan, Australia and Britain.
