1、replace的`原義為“把放回原處”，引申為“取代”、“更換”，指人或物因各種原因而更替。
例如：Teachers will never be replaced by computers in the classroom.
課堂上電腦永遠不會取代老師。
All the old carpets need replacing.
所有的舊地毯都需要更換。

2、replace作及物動詞，與介詞with/by連用時，意為（用?）替換；（以?）接替。
例如：He will be difficult to replace when he leaves.
